Permission granted for first 200 homes at Land North of Horsham

CALA Homes has been granted permission for 193 homes as part of the new community we are creating at the Land North of Horsham site. These homes form part of the first phase of the development, which includes a village centre with both retail and community facilities. With attractive green spaces, ponds and parks, the development will provide ample opportunities for the new community to walk, play and explore. A network of footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways connect the site to the existing countryside, providing a convenient and attractive village set in rolling countryside on the outskirts of Horsham.

Bohunt Horsham will move into the new school campus, which is currently being built on the site by the Department of Education, in December 2021. This will offer a great facility for Horsham’s children and help to develop the new community being created at the Land North of Horsham. The school opened to Year 7 pupils from its temporary facility in Horsham town centre in 2019 and will soon provide an all-through service to for 1,670 pupils aged 2-16. Meanwhile, we are installing a new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the A264 to connect the new development to the existing Horsham community, and upgrading the Rusper Road and A264 roundabout.

Legal & General Homes has also submitted a planning application for 197 new homes as part of the first phase, and these new homes will range from one-bed apartments to four-bedroom houses.

CALA Homes is expected to start construction in Summer 2021. You can view the approved application on Horsham District Council’s Planning Portal under the reference DC/20/2047.
